About the produce alliance foundation

Mission

The history of the Produce Alliance Foundation (“PA Foundation”) is to respond in real-time to current events, natural disasters, and time sensitive causes. The mission of this project is to ensure rapid hunger relief to Americans while creating jobs in the food service sector.

Given the PA Foundation's integration into Produce Alliance (a produce management company) and the foodservice supply chain, we have experienced first-hand how our distribution network has been devastated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Using our national supply chain network, we deployed some of the idled capabilities of our food service supply chain alliance to initiate a food box program. By reactivating furloughed workers, and utilizing commodities already in the supply chain, we have been able to provide immediate access to food boxes of fresh produce, dairy, and protein.
